Matt grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma where he spent his time learning how to restore cars and build half pipes in his parent’s backyard. By a young age he was tinkering with tools and materials he found in the garage, taking apart and reassembling (not always successfully) an old radio or his dad’s drill.

In 2011 Matt and his wife Darcy moved to Los Angeles to pursue their careers in the design and build industry. They fell in love with California's lifestyle, spending the next 10 years soaking up everything the golden state could offer- from the coast of Malibu to the hills of east LA, Matt's time on the west coast influenced his work and shaped his approach to modern design.

The pandemic brought about changes, and in October Matt and Darcy decided it was time to plant roots in Oklahoma where they've always wanted to raise their daughter Uma. They found their dream home, a 100 year old bungalow in the heart of midtown Tulsa. A place that felt familiar and conjured up memories of family gatherings and backyard barbeques. The perfect fixer upper for a carpenter and design professional.

Matt's intentional building practices, regard to detail, and natural curiosity have proven his success in this industry. He has spent years refining his craft, learning which materials to source, and why it’s so important to invest in the right tools.

Splitting his time between jobsites and his midtown woodshop, he sources local materials and supports a community of small business suppliers. He treats every client’s home as if it were his own, keeping him efficient and organized in his approach. When you work with Matt, you will receive a handcrafted piece to be enjoyed for years to come.
